Swapify

SWAPIFY SecureTrade™

Trading with strangers shouldn't be a leap of faith. SecureTrade verifies both traders, documents both items, tracks both packages, and gives every recipient a real inspection window — with real consequences for members who break the rules.

How it works

  1. 1. Both items documented

Before anything ships, each trader submits the item's declared value, current condition notes, serial number where applicable, and up to 10 current photos.

  2. 2. Records frozen on agreement

When both traders agree, both item records are frozen and both items are reserved. No one can quietly edit a listing after the deal is made.

  3. 3. Verification before shipping

Identity, payment-method, and fraud-review checks are tracked separately for each trader. Pending or failed checks block shipment approval — a saved card or uploaded photo never counts as verification.

  4. 4. Tracked shipping both ways

Both items ship with prepaid labels and verified carrier tracking. Delivery is confirmed by carrier events, not by anyone's word.

  5. 5. 72-hour inspection

Each recipient has 72 hours after verified delivery to confirm the item matches its frozen record — or open an evidence-backed dispute.

Items worth $100 or more go through the SWAPIFY-HUB

When either item in a trade is valued at $100 USD or more, both items ship to the Swapify verification hub first — never directly to the other trader. Hub staff record the intake of each package, check each item against its frozen record, and authenticate it where the category is supported. Both items must be approved before either one is released to its new owner. A rejected item stops the entire exchange and opens a resolution case, so nobody can end up empty-handed.

What happens when something goes wrong

If someone ships the wrong item

The recipient opens a dispute within their 72-hour window, with photos of what actually arrived. The trade pauses immediately — nothing completes while a dispute is open. Hub staff review the frozen item record against the delivery evidence. If the sender misrepresented the item, the trade is cancelled, the item is returned, and the sender's account is cancelled.

If someone sends a counterfeit

For hub-routed trades, the item never reaches you: hub staff authenticate it against the frozen record before anything is released, and a failed check stops both items. The counterfeit is returned to the sender, the trade is cancelled, and the sender's account is permanently cancelled. For direct trades, the same dispute process applies with photo evidence.

If someone never ships

A trade cannot move forward without verified carrier tracking for both packages. If a trader never ships, the trade is cancelled, the other member's item is released from its reservation, and the non-shipping member's account is suspended — repeated failures lead to permanent cancellation.

Protection limits — the honest version

  • SecureTrade protects the physical items in a trade. It is not money escrow, and Swapify never holds deposits.
  • Swapify does not provide automatic insurance or guarantee reimbursement. Optional carrier insurance can be purchased through the shipping provider, under that carrier's own terms.
  • Disputes are decided on evidence: frozen item records, hub inspection notes, carrier tracking, and your photos. Keep your evidence photos clear and current.
  • The $0.99 listing fee does not cover shipping, authentication, insurance, or returns.

Protected shipping activates once identity verification, shipping-provider, and hub receiving connections are finalized. Until then, item evidence and frozen agreements are fully working, and no shipment is ever authorized without them. Standard trades without SecureTrade remain available as described in the Terms of Service.
